The work “Chair from the Dining Room” is a crafted ready-made piece. The chair, originally from Tony Chen’s dining room in Petah Tikva, has undergone numerous alterations and layers of paint over the years.
It is full of marks of time, dirt, and sun stains. The piece incorporates a new drawer placed beneath the chair, supported by a rubber hand sourced from children’s toys.
The upper and lower parts of the chair have been replaced with sheet metal pieces, designed based on icons found in the paintings of the artist Heidi Lange, which are displayed in Tony Chen’s home.
